Film Director, whose movie was featured in this year’s Cannes film festival, will be heading the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), official sources said on Friday.
“Manoj Srivastava, deputy Director with the Directorate of Film Festival (DFF), will be joining ESG as its Chief Executive Officer,” Nikhil Desai, General Manager, ESG, said.
He said that Srivastava will be joining in next couple of months as he is yet to be relieved from his DFF responsibility.
Shrivastav’s nine-minute short film ‘Hum Panchchi Ek Daal Ke’ was featured in the recently held Cannes Film Festival.
ESG, a Goa Government body, has been hosting International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa since 2004 which is annually held in the month of November-December. Besides, the Director is also associated with the IFFI since 15 years and has been incharge of National Film Programming (NFP), Desai stated.
Goa government which shouldered IFFI responsibility four years back formed ESG as a special vehicle to conduct the festival.
The ESG is also a single window for clearing shooting permissions in the state and also holds smaller film festivals.
