At this point in time you’ve probably heard of the Tankless Water Heater. If not, you’re probably be hearing a lot more about these popular appliances soon.

A Tankless Water Heater, as the name implies, is a water heater that does not use a tank. The reason that they have become so popular is because they are considerably more efficient when compared to their traditional tank type water heater of old. Traditional water heaters are inherently inefficient. These units have to constantly keep in store large amounts of hot water. They are working constantly, regardless of whether we need the hot water from them or not. This means they’re constantly wasting energy when we are sleeping, and even when we are at work. Tankless Water Heater’s on the other hand, only provide hot water when it is needed. Tankless Water Heater or on demand water heater’s heat water as it passes through a unit rather than relying on a large tank. With going green a big priority for many these days, installing a Tankless Water Heater is a good way to save energy.

When it comes to selecting a Tankless Water Heater you’ll have two typical choices. These two choices usually involve choosing between a gas Tankless Water Heater or an electric Tankless Water Heater. Unfortunately, there is no obvious and easy choice. They both provide a good solution for certain situations. The gas Tankless Water Heater is typically better, if you’re looking for a whole house application. They can produce the BTU power necessary to supply hot water to all hot water sources throughout the house. An electric Tankless Water Heater, on the other hand, is great for point of use purposes. These can be set up right at a facet or location of need. Making a choice between the two should come down to what your specific needs are. Shop wisely.
