South Goa Congress candidate Francisco Sardinha on Monday assured the electorate that he would always be at their disposal throughout the year if elected.

He also rejected the BJP demand to tender an apology on the matter categorically saying there is no need for an apology.

Clarifying reports quoting him as saying that he would not visit his constituency after elections, Sardinha said he would come down from Delhi if any problem is brought to his notice in any part of his constituency.

Admitting that he may not have visited the constituency after the bye-elections, Sardinha said he would work out a detailed plan for his constituency and pointed out that did visit various parts of south Goa whenever any problem was brought to his attention.

He, however, reminded that a Member of Parliament is not an MLA, adding that the people many a time expect the MP to come to various pockets like the MLAs. “There were some people who were saying that I did not visit south Goa, I would like to assure the people that he would even come down from Delhi to attend to public grievances”, he said.

He pointed out that he is always available in the district collectorate every Wednesday and at his Curtorim residence every Sunday, the doors of which are always open.

Admitting that he could not plan things after his election since it was a bye-polls, Sardinha said he would work out a detailed plan for the next five years. When it was pointed out that leaders like churchilll are not working, Sardinha said all workers including Churchill are working for his candidature.
