Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that there has been an increase in arrival of tourists of all classes to the tune of 15-20 per cent over previous tourist season.

Responding to queries about the security measures that the State government is taking in the State in view of the party season, Parrikar said, “Police patrolling has been increased and intelligence gathering too has been enhanced.”

“The arrival of tourists has gone up by at least 21% over last year,” Parrikar said. This is quite contrary to claims made by hospitality industry especially in the north which claims that there is a 30 per cent fall in occupancy this December.
