When he died under suspicious circumstances at (Tito's) Baga beach, no one really cared or wanted to do anything to find out what really happened. They just decided that it was a young American who was there to party, be with the local girls and do drugs. The private investigator from Sahara(my son's employer) did a sham investigation probably afraid of the local Goa police, the US Embassy people did their usual bureaucratic, heartless, impotent procedures and the Bikram yoga people(Jon's sponsor) in California just wanted to protect their reputation and not be sued. So, when you party in Goa you are really, really on your own. We will mourn the loss of our son until the day we die. Let my son’s untimely death be a warning to others. Is is possible to run such "business" and clubs without the support of the politicians? When we went to Nepal we just dropped in some of these places just to check the reality of the "business". There, especially in the capital the dance bars and parlours are very common and they open very early at times at 6.30 or so and lasts till wee hours. When we spoke to the manager we also came to know that everything is "safe" as the police are hand in glove with them... Is this not the same in Goa? Are the police and the politicians (especially their sons & daughters) not involved? Just that there it is done openly without hiding any facts,,,and here it is just the opposite. Yes, there are a few places doing prostitution, everybody knows about it. but, there are many centers who do not indulge in prostitution. Even they are being targeted by the panchayats and police. Since last season(2006-07), panchayat has stopped issuing licenses to any massage centers in calangute, baga, candolim area. This is not ethically right and it is not very difficult to find out which are the bad places and which are good. The police should come out with some means to stop prostitution and help those who are doing their businesses legally. The panchayat should issue licenses to centers.
