Union civil aviation minister Praful Patel called on voters to elect their leader by a thumping margin to set a new record in the
forthcoming parliament elections.

He was addressing an election meeting of NCP’s North Goa candidate Jitendra Deshprabhu, organized by Bicholim Block Congress Committee in association with Sattari Yuva morcha Sunday evening.

Patel stated that UPA-led coalition government at the Centre took important decisions during their tenure and along with giving stability to the nation, he reiterated that relaxing loans of Rs 70,000 crore to the farmers was a historical step taken by the UPA government.

Highlighting the efforts of the civil aviation ministry he said there was a time when traveling by air was considered a luxury but now the situation has changed due to the efforts meted out by the UPA-led coalition government.

On the other hand, when MP Shripad Naik was holding the same portfolio he did not make any effort to undertake any developmental steps, Patel pointed out.

He finally promised that the existing government will see to it that along with the developments at the Dabolim airport Mopa airport will be launched in the Pernem taluka as a priority of the newly elected MP .
