Former Supreme Court Justice and former Karnataka Lokayukta N Santosh Hegde will be visiting Goa soon upon the invitation of India Against Corruption (IAC), Goa unit, to advise civil society in the light of the Shah Commission report on illegal mining. “We will know the programme of Justice Hegde in a day or two,” IAC coordinator in Goa Valmiki Naik told TOI. “Justice Hegde has agreed to visit Goa to advise us how to bring legal amendments ensuring that the proposed Lokayukta can give mandatory directions instead of giving mere recommendatory advice to the government,” he said.
