The Goa university is gearing up for its silver jubilee celebrations for the year 2009-2010 and has begun with a revised edition of its campus bulletin for the months from January to March.
The bulletin will now be released on a quarterly basis. Two hundred copies of the first revised eight-page bulletin were printed on a trial basis recently. The Goa university endeavours to print more copies of the bulletin and come out with a more comprehensive 16-page bulletin with information about the university’s activities in the coming quarters.
The university will register the bulletin with the registrar of newspapers and the edition will be provided not only to all departments of the university but also to several other universities across India.
The bulletin can also be accessed on the university’s official website www.unigoa.ac.in. As the university will begin its celebrations from June 2009 to commemorate 25 years of its existence, it will also soon be reviving its website.
The university’s annual report, news bulletin, handbook and all other publications will be uploaded on the website along with other circulars and information on the happenings at the university.
The move is aimed at making the system even more transperant, said officials. The university is also planning to organize workshops and seminars through the upcoming academic year as part of its silver jubilee celebrations.
