India’s western state of Goa will host the fourth Lusofonio Games in 2013, the Indian Olympic Association said Wednesday. The multiple-sport, biennial Lusofonio Games feature countries with Portuguese-speaking communities.

IOA secretary-general Randhir Singh said Goa was allocated the 2013 Lusofonio Games on Tuesday during a meeting of the Association of the Portuguese Speaking Olympic Committees in Lisbon.
Goa was a Portugese colony until 1961, and the launguage continues to be spoken there. Lisbon is currently hosting the second Lusofonio Games, while the 2011 games will be staged in Brazil.
