Goa police detain Nepali national at Dabolim airport

Goa: Dabolim AirportA Nepali national was on Sunday detained by the Goa police after he was found suspiciously moving around Dabolim airport in the port town of Vasco.

“We have arrested him after Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) found him suspicious,” Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Deu Banaulikar, told PTI. Banaulikar said that Vasco police are interrogating him, who claims to be Suking Harsh Brajacharya, a native of Kathmandu.

The 28-year-old Nepali national arrived in Goa by Mumbai flight on Saturday evening. He had travelled from Kathmandu to Delhi, Delhi to Mumbai and arrived in Goa from Mumbai, the DSP said. The police after initial investigations released the Nepali national but re-arrested him after they found an unattended Pakistani certificate at the airport which had a photograph matching Suking’s face.

The DSP refusing to divulge much details said that the Nepali is still being interrogated and is detained under section 41 of the CrPC. Goa is on alert after the November 26 terror attacks in Mumbai and has increased patrolling along the vital installations including state’s lone airport situated at Vasco town.
