Total projects worth 65 lakhs have been recommended by him under Members of Parliament Local area Development Scheme in Sanvordem constituency, so far, said Shantaram Naik M P on friday at Tamdi Surla, Sacorde.



Naik who was inaugurating a Library,Labaratory cum gymnasium building for Barabhumi High School at Tamdi Surla constructed at the cost of 21 lakhs , said that he has given a community hall to one school of Bhausaheb Shikshan Sanstha at Dharbandora built at the cost of Rs. 20 lakhs, which has already been inaugurated, last year.

Naik said that he has recommend a community hall to the Village Panchayat of Sacordem to be built at the cost of Rs 25 lakhs . Naik said Goa needs a balanced development with no region neglected. There is a tendency among ministers to spend major portion of the budget of the departments under him in his own constituency ,and therefore, such acts need to be treated as criminal misuse of funds . Mr Naik said he is touring assembly constituency to take feedback and proposals from villagers as to what type of projects they propose to have.

Naik said that in the last winter session he moved a private constitutional amendment bill to provide that no development fund are to be allotted or spent in a village, taluka,district ,Assembly or Parliamentary constituency disproportionately, at the cost of other areas. If the bill comes for discussion a good debate will generate and government and planing commission will have to take some steps or the other, he said.

Naik said that he proposes to allot funds for encouraging people to use solar energy in villages and for this purpose he will have discussions with Village Panchayats
At the outset Shri Madhavrao Desai ,Chairman of Barabhumi gave welcome speeach. Sarpanch of Sacorde Shri Shirish desai, manager of Barabhumi School Shri Govind Sawant also spoke on the occassion.

Deputy Sarpanch Mrs Vrida Sawant, panch shri Gautam Sawant, Eng. Anand Naiik, Contractor Venctexa naik were also present on the occassion.
