Finding no respite, students of the Goa College of Art are all set to constitute a Students’ Council on Monday (tomorrow) in a bid to follow up vigorously the problems and issues irking the institution.Students state that the key role of the council will be to follow up with the Chief Minister Digambar Kamat the assurances made to them recently.
The students allege that even though a committee has been constituted under the directives of the chief minister to look into the grievances raised, the student allege that the committee has not been accessible to them.
In a new twist to the on-going agitation, most senior ex-students of the college today tried to intervene in the matter during a joint meeting convened in Panjim.It is learnt that a committee of ex-students was constituted today to pursue the problems with the college principal.
However, the present students refuse to budge on the demands and plan to continue the agitation if no favourable solutions were in sight.
