The FIFA-AFC delegation left for Bangalore after discussions with the officials of Dempo SC, Sporting Clube de Goa, Churchill Bros, Salgaocar SC, Vasco Club and GFA after ascertaining their views on club structure and infrastructure, professionalism and format of leagues.
The delegation sought information about the technical staff and others employed by the clubs as well as availability of training grounds and youth programmes. They were keen in getting the feedback from the clubs so as to find out how the clubs could fulfill their requirements for securing professional status comparable with European standards, disclosed Mr Savio Messias, GFA secretary. “They were keen to study the present scenario and prepare a road map so that the basic requirements befitting a professional side are met in the future,†Mr Messias added.
Coaching and refereeing aspects were also dealth with and help sought to improve the standards with training schedules at regional and state levels, Mr Messias stated. The possibility of getting experts from FIFA and AFC were also discussed, he added.

The delegates sought opinion on fielding of national league players in state leagues as well as the nature of contracts being signed with the players. The structure of the league also figured in discussions, Mr Messias stated.
