Dubrovnik is the most southern city in Croatia, and the most practical way to reach the city is to do so by air. It can also be reached by bus from capitaly city Zagreb, Rijeka, Zadar, Split or Trieste in Italy. The most pleasant journey to the Dubrovnik is probably by ferry from town of Rijeka, which stops at islands and ports such as Zadar, Split, Hvar along the way, and takes about 17 hours.
Dubrovnik’s resurgent popularity should come as no surprise, however – this “jewel of the Adriatic sea” as the coastal resort town is often referred to in tourist brochures, is breathtakingly beautiful. The city’s fortified old town overlooks the dazzling Adriatic from a shelter of limestone cliffs and its marble-paved streets are lined with marvelously preserved churches, stately palaces, squares, and terracotta roofed townhouses.
Dubrovnik is easy to explore on foot. Don’t miss the fortifications surrounding the picturesque old town or a day out at the beach. You can make it happen by plane or package tour; picturesque hotels abound in the city, as do excellent restaurants in all price ranges.
As is perhaps to be expected, the range of accommodation in Dubrovnik is really great. There are many hotels, from 1 star to several top class 5 star ones. Dubrovnik apartments and other types of private accommodation can also be easily found.
