I am writing this because I am really disappointed as to what happened for new years eve on 31st Dec 2009 in Goa.

We went to Blue lagoon Hotel at Cola beach Goa, one of the few secret kept treasure beach of Goa. We had organized a small party there with two large speakers , good music , food drinks and fireworks. If you visit Cola beach, Goa you will realize that it is a piece of Heaven in Goa, and I was really disappointed as there was no Non Indian tourist, except for one Russian group. The rest were mostly Indians, mainly the kind of Indians who are ill mannered, not at all sporting, and who are largely responsible for destroying the Goan beaches, to name a few Baga, Anjuna , Colva and Palolem by littering the beach.

We then went to Palolem and I was shocked to see most of the UK and tourist crowd out there and I felt how good it would have been if all these people were at Cola beach. It was a sad scene for me.

If anyone has read this article please let me know if you will prefer to spend the new years eve on such sick beaches or having a descent party at Cola beach at south Goa, just ahead of Palolem beach with only a few Goans and Non Indian Tourist.

In case you are a non indian tourist and residing in South Goa, at Agonda or Palolem do visit this place and write to me at goatravelguide@yahoo.in to organize a peaceful and descent party with some good people around.

Definitely there are shacks, beach huts and many other facilities, but it all depends upon which season are you in. Last time when I was there in October, it was the Real Silent beach. This time though, things have change. We are at Agonda rigt now at the Agonda beach huts.

I do really love Agonda, but what you write doesn't even sound like you've been there! You say "there are no tourists, no souvenir stalls, no restaurants, nothing". I just returned from Agonda (after having spent January there, second year in a row), and there certainly are those facilities. It is, unfortunately, starting to go through tourist growth, and I can only pray that it doesn't turn into the shit hole that Palolem did.
Still, I do like this site.
