Two teenagers from Hubli were feared drowned, while five others were saved by the lifeguard on duty at the Calangute Beach on Saturday afternoon.According to reports, a group of 15 youths from Hubli had come on a holiday to Goa and seven of them went for a swim at the Calangute Beach.
All of them began to struggle in the rough sea and the lifeguard on duty rushed to their rescue. While five were rescued, two others, Rafique Bepari (15) and Iqbal Bepari (16) were dragged into the sea.
Navy helicopters were pressed into service but could not locate the two missing teenagers till late Saturday evening. Calangute police is investigating the case.
